5 weeks old already

It's hard to believe our little Janie is already 5 weeks old! How fun it is to see her little personality come out. We think she is going to be a funny, and perhaps even a sneaky little thing... and no doubt, she is determined already! She is starting to find her voice, and coos back at you. She knows one person's voice from the next, and studies faces very intently when you're talking to her. Her face often portrays a sort of seriousness, only to dissolve into a big grin.

We think she's growing fast, not necessarily in chubbiness, but in length! Mommy was sad the day last week she outgrew her first little newborn outfit! That was way too fast! The outfits with feet at the bottom aren't going to last too long. Jane loves her pacifier, and let's you know loud and clear when it's fallen out of mouth when she didn't want it to (like it did just now!) At about 2 to 3 weeks, all of Jane's hair on top of her little head fell out! So she definitely has a little billiard ball head.... that or she definitely takes after Grandpa Aune. :o)

She's not sleeping through the night yet, but last week she went a whole 7 hours!!! Whoa! Thankfully we didn't expect that to repeat itself right away, otherwise we would've been really disappointed when it didn't. Jane loves to lay wide awake in mommy or daddy's arms around 4am, just sitting there peacefully... even in the middle of sleep deprivation, it's amazing how you can just sit and stare at her beautiful little face and fall in love more and more each minute.
