I feel like it should still be the beginning of December or something... how are we already at the half-way mark of January? Well Christmas and New Years came and went, the days are starting to get lighter, and my mind is already starting to "think spring," but I must say - the holidays this year were some of the loveliest I can recall.
January is upon us, Nathan and I are leaving tomorrow for Mexico - but I still feel myself lingering in the last month's time.... The snow, the holidays, the family, and a bunch of random pictures from my point and shoot that I haven't shared with anyone yet! So here is a whole set of miscellaneous things from the past month. :o)
I love taking walks with Jane. She so calmly and sweetly sits and takes in everything around her - she is so observant for a little person. Every once and awhile you'll hear a little squeak or tweet or some little noise in imitation of a bird, cat, or dog that she's spotted. It was chilly yesterday -so we bundled up one again for our outing.
Grambie and Grandpa Norm got Jane her first little tricycle! She isn't quite used to it yet, but she gives it a little try each time we go and visit. Before we know it, she'll be cruising around the house running into things.
Jane has taken to sleeping in some of the most charming little positions lately. This being one of our favorites... she tucks her knees up underneath her - and just curls into this little ball, and often times it is accompanied by little chuckles - as if she is sooo excited to be getting to go to bed. :o) We also got Jane a new carseat as she finally has reached the weight limit on her other little carrier. AND, big news hear, Jane jumped to the 20th percentile for weight... as opposed to never making it on to the charts previously... so we celebrated with a new seat - and she loves facing foward almost as much as we love it!
Jane is always full of giggles when she knows she entertaining a crowd - this was a night at Grambie's.
At Christmastime, we went bowling with Nathan's family - always replete with lots of laughs!
Jane's first pigtails!!! This was early January at some point - can you see them? Oh, they are the tiniest things... and I have to work very skillfully to get them in without bothering her - but her daddy thinks she's the cutest thing with them in, so sometimes we try and do her hair before dad comes home from work. :o)
Since our room is upstairs - it never has seemed convenient to just plop Jane in bed with us in the mornings... we finally did last month and Jane just thought it was the funnest. :o)
From our little family time together at Christmas... and Jane was all tired out before the morning was even half over. :o)
Another sink bathtime! These have become very appealing to me lately as my belly continues to get bigger with #2! And Jane is in her element in the bath!
For those of you who don't have the privilege of knowing one of my oldest and dearest friends - this is Julie! She has lived with us for almost exactly one year now... whew! That went by fast. Jane adores her as she does Jane, and the three of us share many many laughs together.
