Christmas Time Update...before it's too late! :o)

Christmas Day was magical.
As much as I love Christmas, this was the first time in quite awhile that it really actually felt that way. Having children brings you back to your own childhood memories faster than you can blink. I nearly forgot what the feeling was like... waking on Christmas morning, and having this indescribable feeling inside. There is truly no other word appropriate for it- it it what it is- Christmas Morning.

Watching Jane experience the sights and sounds of Christmas morning left my heart feeling fuller than I could've imagined. We had already celebrated so many different Christmas parties, how did she know it was actually Christmas? Somehow she did- she just acted like it. It was like watching myself- exploring, smelling, and just feeling overwhelming happy.

My parents came and spent two days with us here at our home- it was really great to be home, after all of the running around we had been doing. We took our time opening presents, enjoying the children, and enjoying each other. AND, we ALL tooks naps!!!

And this December season was not without it's challenges. But you know what? This year it made me more thankful for everything God has given to us, everything He has blessed us with, and most of all, the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. That is why we celebrate Christmas. It help a more real place in my heart than it had ever before, and for that, I am thankful.

Jane wanted everyone to sit at her new table and chairs, and by name told everyone where to go!

My parents gave to Jane, my doll changing table from when I was a little girl. Filled with all the same things I used to play with... mini diapers, fake lotions, brushes, hangers and clothes in the closet. Oh... talk about a walk down memory lane. Wow....

Jane riding 'Blackie." My grandpa made this horse for my brother- now Jane is riding it!

Little man, at the new table!

Had to snap one family picture before we forgot! We all needed naps at this point!

Me and my new man. Oh, how he has captured my heart!

Nathan got a 'Daddle." Which is technically a saddle for a dad to wear! How hilarous is that??! Both the kids took turns riding Dad! :o)

We had a wonderful time this year, celebrating with Nathan's family too! Nathan's brother, Ben, and his wife Penny, are so great to always fly out from Atlanta to get time with us every year. We had been talking with Jane a lot, and Nathan's mom even had two blow-up cut-outs of Ben and Penny that Jane had played with- so when they got here, she totally knew who they were! :o) It was fabulous not to have any warm-up time whatsoever!
We relaxed, took naps, went to zoo lights (my first time!), ate wonderful food- a lot of it 'raw' and so healthy! I think it was the first holiday season we didn't gain weight. :o) It was just a really peaceful fun time together!

Ben making the same face Jane is! :o)

We managed to remember to take a family picture!!!! Why is it so hard to do that??? :o)
